COASTAL DUNE LAKES DOCUMENTARY RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS TELLY AWARDS, CRYSTAL REEL AWARDS, AVA AWARDS AND AURORA AWARDS
“Coastal Dune Lakes: Beaches of South Walton”
...a 13-minute documentary highlighting Walton County’s rare coastal treasures received:
2- CRYSTAL REEL AWARDS, the highest honor, for best cinematography and best documentary.
2- SILVER TELLY AWARDS, the highest honor, for best in cinematography and content for education of nature.
2- AVA AWARDS for cinematography and best nature content,
2- AURORA AWARDS best in cinematography and Best of Show.
The film was co-produced by ELAM STOLTZFUS of Live Oak Production Group in Blountstown and The Walton County Tourist Development Council. The script was written by Chandra Hartman. The film gives an educational interpretation of the ecological benefits of the lakes and how they can be sustained for many years to come.
The documentary gives details of the biodiversity of the coastal dune lakes, water quality monitoring, development along the lakes and recreational opportunities. The documentary describes how both visitors and residents can participate in the “Leave No Trace” ethic by keeping the dune lakes pristine and natural.
Local environmental experts and community leaders participated in the story. The program will be promoted online on the TDC’s official website www.beachesofsouthwalton.com, through Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance, Coastal Dune Lake Advisory Board and University of Florida’s IFAS educational initiatives.

The Aurora Awards celebrates the ability of media creators around the world by recognizing their skills to captivate audiences by their creative displays of color and light. Competitors come from the independent, corporate, and freelance production groups, advertising agencies, broadcast stations, large and small.
